9 Malaysian Institutions Receive Six-Star Rating from MyQUEST

The rating certificate was presented by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, he also revealed that the evaluation is mainly measured by these three aspects: the quality of an institution, the programs and practices of private higher education institution with the status of a college.

“In December 2014, 238 of the 406 private university participated in the rating, and out of the 235 private colleges that are qualified for auditing, 199 private colleges were granted the rating.” he said.

Besides, he also suggested that apart from raising the reputation for those colleges which have a high rating, it increases the public confidence towards the quality of local higher education as well.

The colleges mentioned above are listed as follows:

1. KDU University College-Penang Campus

KDU Penang College is an integral part of Paramount Education, which is the pioneer in private tertiary education in Malaysia since 1983. KDU Penang College provides a wide range of internationally recognised industry-driven academic programmes, and it has more over 18,000 alumni from 64 countries around the world.

2. SEGI College Subang Jaya

College Subang Jaya was established in 2006, and the new campus was the first official campus constructed by the Group and comprised of modern classrooms and laboratories equipped with latest technologies.

3. Sunway College Kuala Kumpur

Sunway College was established in 1987, it’s the pioneer of twinning and credit transfer programmes in Malaysia and it allows its students to study globally recognised degrees at an affordable cost.

4. Taylor College Subang Jaya

It’s located in the heart of Subang Jaya, and it provides fully-furnished accommodation for students ranging from apartments to landed properties which are just within a stone throw of the college.

5. Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College

Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College was established in 1995 and it is one of the pioneers in health education in Malaysia. The programmes it provides are all approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

6. Taylor’s College Sri Hartamas

Taylor’s College is one of the largest centres of pre-university studies in Malaysia and offers exceptional facilities for learning. It also provides uncompromised British, Australian, Canadian and International Pre-University education.

7. Kolej Teknologi Timur

Kolej Teknologi Timur has started to operate since 1997 and it is fully owned by a Bumiputra Company registered under a name of Hiraki Timur Sdn. Bhd.  

8. Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT)

Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology offers a range of programmes which are designed to produce highly employable graduates, and the programmes it offers have a strong partnership with Staffordshire University, UK.

9. Stamford College Petaling Jaya

Stamford College was established in 1950, it has more than 800 foreign students from over 40 countries around the world. It offers diplomas, full undergraduates degrees, master degrees and North American Degree Program for students who wish to pursue their higher education.
