Additional info

Sydney caters for all socio-economic groups. You can determine your budget depending on the type of lifestyle you choose to lead and the location of your accommodation. We anticipate that an international student will require approximately AUD$18,000 - AUD$20,000 for living expenses each year (not including tuition fees).

  • You need to budget for accommodation/weekly rental, food, transport, books, clothing, health services and entertainment. Of course, your weekly expenses will vary depending on your lifestyle and entertainment choices.
  • Do not forget to budget for major set-up expenses such as rental bond (4 x weekly rent) television, stereo or computer.
  • If you decide to buy a car you will need to budget for car insurance and registration (approximately AUD$1000 per year). A new small car costs at least A$14,000 and a reliable second hand vehicle costs between A$4000 - A$8,000.
