So, now that we know that dietary cholesterol is not a monster, the coast is clear for eggs. And this is great, since eggs are incredibly packed with an essential nutrient called choline, that helps you remember how to fill in an oval. So, scramble them up a few months before exam days to see if it helps to improve your memory.
Fried, boiled, poached or sunny-side up; feel free to choose either way you like the eggs to be made for breakfast. Who wants to hear a rumbling tummy early in the morning?
#2 Oily fish can make you smarter

Fish is pretty much the best ever. Putting fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel on the exam menu is a wonderful way to boost your brain. An improved brain function (reasoning, listening, responding, etc) can lead you to have a higher exam score!
You can have canned sardines on some whole wheat bread for snacking in the morning and you will have a healthy, long lasting meal of complex carbohydrates, vitamins and protein. Can oily fish make you smarter? You bet!
#3 Green tea is the timeless beverage

Sure, buckets of coffee keep you awake when you are burning the midnight oil. However, it will also make you as trembly as Chihuahua in a blizzard. Swap coffee for green tea! Green tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid that will keep you energized and stay alert without the shakes. So fellas, whether you take it shaken or stirred, it’s great for you!
#4 Good dark chocolate? Boost concentration

You’re already carrying a backpack full of heavy books - the last thing you need is a load of bulky snacks. Dark chocolate, already compact and ready to go, solve the problem. 75% cacao content or higher in dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and cholesterol because of its powerful antioxidant properties from the flavonoids.
Here’s an interesting fact: One of the best uses of dark chocolate comes from its natural stimulant: caffeine. This one helps you focus the energy. So, you should definitely treat yourself to some dark chocolate today.
#5 Oatmeal is not just for kiddies anymore!

I used to dislike oatmeal most of all, unless I could sneak in some honey and bananas. With plenty of chocolate chips. Instead of a poor-man’s food or an ingredient in cookies, oatmeal is now the Food of Champions. It increases the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that sends calming signals to your brain. Awww yeah. Oatmeal also produces a shot of glucose first thing in the morning to get your brain awake and running. Double win for oatmeal. You go, oatmeal!
You know your mom is going to cook ginseng chicken soup while you’re studying for exams. Ask her POLITELY if she can feed you these brain food instead to help you study better!
