Best Sports Facilities Across Malaysian Universities

1. UiTM Shah Alam
As the main branch for all UiTM in Malaysia, it is provided with the top-class sports facilities for the students and become the venue of choice to hold prestigious sports events. It has become the choice for local and international competition such as the upcoming 10th UiTM International Sports Fiesta (UiSF). There is also an olympic-sized swimming pool in which they have created a special schedule for both female and male students to take turns when using the pool. What not to miss is a huge stadium with track and field that can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators, where football matches between universities are being held. Bicycles are also available for rent and ride around the mountain areas near campus, that is, if your feet are strong enough for the challenge and literal breathtaking exercises.

2. Sunway University
Situated just across from Monash University, Sunway University offers their students more sporting facilities, such as an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a full-sized field for football, rugby, hockey and cricket, courts and equipment for tennis, basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis; just to name a few. Tournaments for all the students are gradually being held by the clubs every semester. Being one of the prestigious universities in Malaysia, they are sure to provide the top class facilities for their students to keep them healthy and in their best shape. Quoted from Virgil, “The greatest wealth is health” and it is indeed what Sunway is providing for their students.

3. University Sains Malaysia (USM)
USM is known as a popular host for international level cricket and hockey tournaments. The campus has one of the best sports facilities in Malaysia. The rugby pitches, cricket, and football, and are located near its main entrance. Rows of tennis courts, an astroturf field for hockey and a stadium with synthetic track are located on the other side of the campus. There is also an Olympic sized swimming pool built on the slope of a scenic setting. Archery and a mini golf putting green are also available for the students to enjoy. You name it, USM definitely has it. USM is also entitled as being the most beautiful university in Malaysia.
4. Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP)
For students to work on their basketball skills, the world-class sport facilities at UMP is a sure bet. UMP is hailed as the central Basketball Centre in Malaysia-- a step taken by the ministry to encourage students of all races to actively participate in basketball. Major tournaments and playoffs from the smallest of events to the biggest, both locally and internationally. The campus has a refined basketball courts to accommodate various events and players. Aside from the basketball courts, there are also gymnasium, squash courts, badminton courts and football field. No reason to not exercise here, that’s for sure, especially if you are a basketball player.

5. Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)
I save the best for last! Aside from the usual sport facilities they have installed for their students, UUM sport facilities in particular is unique as they have their very own Go-Cart Track. Yes, i repeat: Go-Kart Track on campus! Probably the coolest university to have one in Malaysia. There are also others of not-your-usual-sports-facilities, such as archery fields, equestrian sports and golf. I don’t know about you, but I definitely would want to study here just to enjoy all of these facilities.
