The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) hosted its much-anticipated annual premier cultural event, the International Cultural Night (ICN) 2025, on 6 December 2025, in a specially constructed outdoor stage and marquee outside the campus building. This created the setting for an even grander celebration of diversity and cultural unity, as more than 7,000 students and guests representing over 130 countries came together to honour the richness of APU’s global community.
Organised by APU’s Student Representative Council and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and coordinated by APU’s Student Affairs unit, the event, themed “Cultural Chronicles”, beautifully captured the spirit of global exploration, storytelling, and heritage. It is considered to be the largest and most diverse showcase of cultural diversity from so many countries in a single event held in Kuala Lumpur.
On top of that, the event welcomed distinguished representatives from embassies and partnering organisations, further elevating the significance of this event and adding a sense of prestige to this extraordinary showcase of multiculturalism.
Global Rhythms in Dance
The stage transformed into a living storybook as talented cultural dance troupes brought “Cultural Chronicles” vividly to life through a series of dazzling and meticulously choreographed performances.
Each dance offered a captivating glimpse into centuries of tradition, artistry, and cultural identity, ranging from lively folk dances and elegant classical heritage pieces to imaginative and dynamic cultural fusion showcases.
The students enthralled the audience, masterfully weaving stories through every movement and leaving guests deeply inspired by the beauty, richness, and diversity of cultures from around the world.
Melodies that connected Hearts
Music played an equally powerful role in shaping the events’ narrative.
Students from diverse backgrounds performed a variety of traditional, contemporary, and cross-cultural pieces that resonated deeply with the audience.
The shared harmonies, emotional delivery, and cultural significance behind each song created an atmosphere of unity and celebration throughout the event.
Culture up close
Ahead of the event, interactive cultural booths set up by students brought to life the traditions and heritage of numerous countries.
Guests were welcomed into immersive cultural spaces filled with traditional attire, handcrafted artefacts, cultural games, photobooth experiences, and authentic food and beverages.
These showcases offered a glimpse into the customs and stories that shape each culture, giving attendees the chance to learn, engage, and appreciate the diversity.

As ICN 2025 concluded with resounding applause and heartfelt appreciation, the spirit of “Cultural Chronicles” left a lasting impact on everyone who attended.
