About this course

Programme Objectives

  1. To produce competent and versatile accounting graduates who are able to be assistants for accountants, auditors, tax consultants, finance managers and management teams.
  2. To prepare accounting graduates to become members of accounting professional bodies that is nationally/ internationally recognized or pursue gradutes or advance studies in accounting or the chosen field of interest.
  3. To provide a platform for graduates to develop career and education in an accounting profession.
  4. To produce accounting graduates with effective interpersonal skills.

Entry Requirements

A) GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Obtained a pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent qualifications, with a minimum of FIVE (5) credits (GRADE C) inclusive of a credit in Bahasa Melayu, and a pass (GRADE E) in History at the SPM level.

B) SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

1. Obtained credits (GRADE C) in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • THREE (3) other subjects (NOT inclusive of previously listed subjects with credits)

2. Obtained a pass (GRADE E) in English Language.

Candidates for Diploma in Architecture programme need to pass a test and an interview carried out by the university. OR

A) GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Obtained a pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent qualifications, with a minimum of FOUR (4) credits (GRADE C) inclusive of a credit in Bahasa Melayu subject, and a pass (GRADE E) in History subject at the SPM level.

B) SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

1. Obtained credits (GRADE C) in THREE (3) other subjects (NOT inclusive of previously listed subjects with credits).

2. Obtained credits (GRADE C) in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language

3. Obtained a pass in Pre-Diploma (non-Engineering), and obtained credits (GRADE C) in all subjects, with a minimum of:

  • CGPA 2.50 in the programme of Diploma in Computer Science.
  • CGPA 2.00 in the programmes of other than Diploma in Computer Science.

Students who are admitted to the university without credits in Mathematics (for the programmes of Diploma in Computer Science and Diploma in Quantity Surveying) are required to take Mathematics at the SPM level and obtain a minimum of a credit (GRADE C) before graduating in order to obtain the award of a diploma conferred by the University.

Year 2

Communication skills, Co-curriculum Service Learning, Principles of Macroeconomics, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Accounting Information Systems, Interpersonal Communication, Intermediate Accounting, Islamic Financial System, Business Law, Taxation 1.

Year 3

Advanced Financial Accounting, Introduction to Islamic Accounting, Partnership and Company Law, Taxation 2, Audit, Industrial Training, Industrial Training Report.
