About McMaster University

McMaster University is a public research university located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is located on 121 hectares (300 acres) of land near the residential neighbourhoods of Ainslie Wood and Westdale, adjacent to Hamilton's Royal Botanical Gardens. The university operates six academic faculties: the DeGroote School of Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Social Science, and Science. It is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada.

Campus information

McMaster University beautiful and vast ground that are only accessible just to walkers and cyclists, is located at the western end of Lake Ontario. The grounds has been developed in size since the University moved to Hamilton in 1930. While the original six structures are still being occupied, new buildings are built over the years and currently there are 56 structures in total around McMaster vicinity. 

The City of Hamilton is only minutes away from the University and offers a variety of activities for the people. There are buses available from the region’s public transit system from the campus to other parts of Hamilton and surrounding area.

Accommodation

McMaster has a total of twelve on-campus residence which can accommodate up to 3,700 students. Only a five minute walk to the nearest commodities such as classes, athletic facilities, libraries and dining facilities. The dormitory are divided into traditional dormitory style where one or two students in one room or the apartment/suite style which provide student a private room, a shared kitchen, washroom(s) and living room with three or five other students.

For students that has decided to live outside the on-campus residence, McMaster’s Off-Campus Resource Centre will be able to assist students in finding the suitable apartments, rooms, or any suitable off-campus living options.
