Among the brightest stars is Ho Zhengying, who achieved three prestigious awards and received an offer from the University of Cambridge. His academic achievements and vision for the future represent the ambition and excellence that define Sunway’s A-Level students.

Celebrating National and Global Recognition

At the May 2025 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, hosted at Sunway University, 16 students from Sunway College and Sunway College Johor Bahru were celebrated for their exceptional achievements in the Cambridge A-Level and AS Level examinations, securing 20 awards across various categories.

Outstanding “Best Across” Awards

• Ho Zhengying – Best Across Three, First Place in Malaysia at A Level
• Wong Yu Xuan – Best Across Four, First Place in Malaysia at AS Level

Top in Malaysia Awards

Joining Ho in academic excellence, several other Sunway students achieved Top in Malaysia awards. At AS Level, Claire Chan Wei Sven was honoured for Literature in English and Psychology. At A Level, the recognition went to Phang Jun Shen (Biology), Ng Ning Wei (Chemistry), Chong Kar Mun (Economics), Wong Yan Yee (Law), and again, Ho Zhengying (Further Mathematics).

Top in the World Awards

Students from Sunway College were also honoured with the prestigious Top in the World awards, one of the highest recognitions in the Cambridge A-Level programme in Malaysia.

Those receiving Top in the World awards at AS Level include Oo Sin Rou (Accounting), Ngei Xin Yan (Further Mathematics), Wong Yu Xuan (Mathematics), and both Elyssa Ayu Binti Yuhasnor Affandy and James Low Jie Wei (Thinking Skills). At A Level, Top in the World awards in Mathematics were earned by Ho Zhengying, Khor Choong Ming, and Tan Zi Heng from Sunway College Johor Bahru.

High Achievement Awards

The excellence continues with High Achievement awards, recognising exceptional performances outside the Top in Country/World rankings. These were awarded to Julius Lee Jun Tao for AS Level History, Humaira Nur Taqiah Binti Shafril for A Level History, and Lee Francesca for A Level Literature in English.
