“The ministry always ensures that the preparation of the SPM results are (sic) done according to the standard operating procedure and that the students’ results are accurate,” said Education Director-General Tan Sri Khair Mohamed Yusof, in response to the issue regarding the supposed delay in the announcement.
According to report from Bernama, the issue of the damaged optical mark reader, as well as the shortage in finances to repair it have caused the delay in the announcement.
According to a circular dated 12 February, the original date of the announcement was 2 March. However, due to this technical and financial difficulties, the Examination Syndicate had to postpone the announcement of the results. The message has gone viral on the social media and had caused public concern.

This may be a good news to some of the 434,535 students who sat for the examinations last year, but there will be no escaping from what reality has to offer. Nevertheless, all the best and good luck!
