A Kung Fu Panda Kick in the Heart

November 11, 2017

EasyUni Staff

Visually appealing for both kids and adults, the third installment of Kung Fu Panda is packed with a heartwarming plot and mesmerising animation that will leave the young (and the young at heart) entertained.

Like its predecessors, the action-comedy animation Kung Fu Panda 3 follows the unlikely panda hero Po a.k.a. Dragon Warrior and his journey towards self-discovery, while fighting evil along the way. The movie picks up from where it left in the last release where viewers saw a glimpse of who could be Po’s real dad. The new movie introduces Po (and the audience) to his long-lost panda father (surely, you can’t go wrong with the black and white spots!) and later on, to a bunch of plump panda bears in a secret – you guessed it – a Panda Village.

The heartfelt reunion was cut short with the arrival of a big threat - in the form of the vicious villain Kai, who has defeated all kung fu masters all over China to become the most powerful creature in the land.

Po must now teach the cuddly, fun-loving, yet clumsy panda villagers to help fight against the Kai, and in the process, ascertain their true selves. Will they be able to fight the bad guy and his crew? That you have to find out.

We won’t give you much about the movie, but this we can say. Over-all, this feelgood movie does not just give warm, fuzzy, feelings. It will make you feel inspired and believe in yourself. What Po teaches us is that self-doubt just brings you down and if you let your real self shine through, you can fight the evil that’s hindering you to become the best YOU you could ever be. Also, if you’re a softie, the meeting between Po’s real and adopted father will make you shed a few tears.

Featuring the voices of Jack Black (Po), Angelina Jolie, Bryan Cranston, Dustin Hoffman, JK Simmons, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and Kate Hudson, Kung Fu Panda 3 is must for fans of animated movies. A few witty banters here and there, coupled with masterfully done animation make this movie worth watching. Surely, Kung Fun Panda 3 should not be missed.
