A leader in innovative discussions concerning the education sector, Bett Asia launched its upcoming Leadership Summit and Expo at an exclusive event on 22 August 2017, at the Residence of the British High Commissioner to Malaysia.
After the Summit’s success last year, the event in 2017 will have in attendance over 1,700 noteworthy individuals, officials and ministers across 40 countries, and is aptly themed “Cultivating Global Collaboration in Education.” Held between 15-16 November, the international event will focus on a variety of topics concerning emerging trends and innovations in the education sector, with sessions inclusive of Ministerial panels to discuss the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2016-2020, women in STEM, nurturing further teaching talents, the future of international schools, among others.
The Summit will too feature an Expo showcasing 60 influential edtech companies, 24 of whom are to be UK exhibitors in an attempt to further introduce the country’s businesses in Asia.
In collaboration with the UK government’s “Education is Great” campaign, the roadshow is expected to move on to Thailand and Vietnam as well. As per the theme, the launch saw speakers such as the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, H.E. Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, and a representative of Malaysia’s Ministry of Education introducing topics, which the Bett Asia Summit is expected to go in-depth into, come November.
Regarding Malaysia’s role in the Summit, British High Commissioner Vicki Treadell stated, “As the education hub of ASEAN, Malaysia is ideally placed to welcome some of the region’s finest education practitioners and thought-leaders to explore innovative educational technologies of the future and to share ideas on supporting learning together. As we roll out our Education is GREAT campaign in Malaysia and more widely across South East Asia, we want to share British educational excellence, and become the partner of choice for the education delivery solutions that underpin economic transformation.”
In attendance at the launch and addressing guests on topics too were the director of Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), provost and CEO of the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, and pro-vice chancellor of Global Engagement at Taylor’s University.
The event ended with a brief networking and refreshments session, with much anticipation surrounding the Bett Asia Leadership Summit and Expo in November.
