About Chapman University

Valedictorians. Feature filmmakers. A Nobel laureate. Students from more than 60 countries. Future entrepreneurs. Visionaries who want an education that asks them to connect the dots between disciplines and their humanity to create meaningful, character-driven lives. That’s who comes to Chapman University.

Our whole personal education attracts students from different backgrounds and countries from all over the world. We have students from 49 states, the U.S. territories and more than 60 different countries*.

Our diverse student body combined with our small classes make it possible for you to connect across borders and backgrounds, opening your experience to different cultures and ways of viewing the world.

We emphasize the interdisciplinary study of the arts and sciences as well as professional programs, giving both undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to become multidimensional, original thinkers—the kind of people who flourish in a challenging world.

Not only do we strive to connect academic areas of inquiry through interdisciplinary study, we also work to connect students to faculty and the University to the community, so that your education is personal, relevant and engaged in the larger world.

Campus information

The Chapman University campus in Orange, California is an understandable source of pride for Chapman. Palm trees line the sidewalks. Stately Memorial Hall with its grand neoclassical columns stands in contrast to the sparkling contemporary lines of the Argyros Forum student center.

Like our curriculum, which connects different disciplines, our campus blends historic and modern architectural styles with beautiful pieces of sculpture to create a campus that’s both serene and inspiring.

Why is this important? A beautiful campus lifts the heart. Art sparks the imagination. A bench near a flower garden invites conversation. It all conspires to make us better students and scholars.

From light-filled residence halls said to resemble “resort communities” and skateboard friendly sidewalks to fully wired (and wireless) classrooms and pieces of public art, the Chapman campus reflects our commitment to the Four Pillars:

  • Intellectual
  • Physical
  • Social and Spiritual

Located in Orange, California, Chapman is a mid-sized private university with a total undergraduate and graduate enrollment of 7,570 students*. Just steps away from the restaurants and shops in Orange’s Old Towne Plaza, Chapman’s stately, palm-treed campus is a centerpiece of this comfortable mid-sized city. Ideally situated within an hour’s drive of Los Angeles, our southern California location provides easy access to LA and Hollywood internships, beautiful beaches, Disneyland, mountains and desert.

Additional info

Chapman University is committed to providing support services to achieve equal access to the education experience. Disability Services (DS) approves and coordinates accommodations and services for students with disabilities at Chapman to help students acquire skills essential to achieve academic and personal success.

The Disability Services Office is designed to help students who have average or above average potential for learning and who exhibit significant difficulties due to a disability. We will support students to understand his/her limited abilities and compensate for them with ADA accommodations and alternative resources as well. Here at Chapman, we want to prepare students for the future by practicing self-advocacy. We will help guide the student on that journey by utilizing all available resources.
