About Ystrad Mynach College

In August 2013, The College Ystrad Mynach and Coleg Morgannwg merged to become Coleg y Cymoedd which means college of the valleys.

The College Ystrad Mynach served the Caerphilly County Borough with sites in Abertridwr, Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Rhymney and Ystrad Mynach. Coleg Morgannwg served the Rhondda Cynon Taff County with sites in Aberdare, Nantgarw and Rhondda

By joining together, Coleg y Cymoedd is now one of the largest further education provider’s in Wales with an estimated 20,000 learners choosing to study and over 800 members of staff.

The Ystrad Mynach College has several campus sites located throughout the Caerphilly Borough. The college and centres campus is located in the Bargoed town, which is served by the railway station.  Rhymney campus site is located in the Caerphilly town, south Wales. Chaerphilly has 2 railway stations, which can be used by students to travel to other cities and towns.
