About Western Oregon University
Western Oregon University's (WOU) 157-acre campus contains of several buildings and facilities. WOU's Jensen Arctic Museum is the only museum dedicated to the Arctic culture on the west coast. WOU has several dining locations, the Valsetz Dining Hall is near by the residence halls.
The Werner University Center serves the bookstore, art gallery, lounges, food outlets and etc. The 619-seat Rice Auditorium and the Leinwand Outdoor Stage is available for outdoor activities and events. Students can easily access to the Hamersly Library, laboratory, equipment, gymnasium and etc. The on-campus residences are only 10 minutes walk to the campus.
Western Oregon University (WOU) is 20 minutes from the state capital, Salem, and a little more than an hour from Portland for city life. The campus is a short drive from the Oregon coast, mountains and other scenic areas. Nature lovers and outdoor adventurers can travel in any direction to find their favorite spot, from the ski slopes of Mt. Hood to the Columbia River Gorge for wind-surfing or whale-watching in Depoe Bay.
