About University of South Florida

The University of South Florida (USF) is a high-impact, global research university located in beautiful Tampa Bay on Florida's spectacular west coast. It is one of the largest public universities in the nation, and among the top 50 universities, public or private, for federal research expenditures. The university is one of only four Florida public universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in the top tier of research universities, a distinction attained by only 2.3 percent of all universities.

Serving over 48,000 students, the USF System has an annual budget of $1.5 billion and an annual economic impact of $4.4 billion. The USF System includes three separately accredited institutions by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges: USF; USF St. Petersburg; and USF Sarasota-Manatee.

Accommodation

USF offers three building styles – each with its own advantages. From traditional college halls open only to freshmen to suite-style halls and full-kitchen apartments for all students, USF has an option for you. In addition, we offer duplex living for select fraternity and sorority organizations and their members.

All buildings have exterior doors that are locked 24 hours a day, common lounge spaces, coin- or Bull Bucks-operated laundry facilities, and air conditioning, as well as being conveniently located near dining halls and academic buildings. Every bedroom is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk, chair, trash can, and closet/wardrobe space for each resident. Rooms/apartments are also equipped with wired and/or wireless Internet access, cable television, and smoke and heat detectors.
