About Northeastern University

Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global, experiential, research university built on a tradition of engagement with the world, creating a distinctive approach to education and research. The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs leading to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools, and select advanced degrees at graduate campuses in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Seattle.

Campus information

Northeastern's graduate campuses in Charlotte, N.C., and Seattle, and its technology hub in Silicon Valley offer in-demand degree programs aligned with their regions’educational, workforce, and economic development needs, including programs in emerging fields, such as cybersecurity, health informatics, and operations technology. Our faculty teaches in flexible hybrid and online formats to meet the needs of working professionals. These locations also promote new research partnerships with industry, government, and academic institutions.

Northeastern is located in Boston's Fenway, Roxbury and Back Bay neighborhoods adjacent to Huntington Avenue near the Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall. The area is also known as the Fenway Cultural District.
