Each residence hall has its own personality and environment, offering a variety of choices while providing all the amenities, social interaction, and academic support that students need. All residence halls are available to students from the freshmen through graduate levels.
Three affordable and convenient apartment communities are available on campus and are open to sophomores and above. All apartments offer furnished spaces with living rooms, full kitchens and private bedrooms. Whether you are interested in our graduate community in Vista del Monte or looking for a brand new apartment in Chamisa, we have a variety of wonderful on campus apartment communities to choose from.
A variety of affordable and convenient on-campus housing options are available to students with families. From individual houses with yards to townhouses and apartments, these neighborhoods offer great amenities and close proximity to Preciado park with playground equipment and picnic areas.
Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are groups of students who live together in the residence halls based upon common interests and they’re a fabulous way to get connected on campus! More than just social opportunities, LLCs have peer advisors and residential mentors working with each group to provide academic support.
There’s no extra cost to live in an LLC, but the benefits are huge! Data has proven that LLCs increase students satisfaction at school and in Residence Halls, increase the chance of them graduating within four years and also increase their interaction with faculty.
The needs of graduate students are different from those of undergraduates, that is why we have a distinguished Graduate and International Student Community with your needs specifically in mind. Graduate Housing is a place where graduate students will live with and near other graduate students in a community of diverse individuals who share similar academic or social interests.
International Student Housing
Our International Student Community was designed to specifically cater to the unique needs of our international student population. International Student Housing is a place where international students will live with and near other international and graduate students in a community of diverse individuals who share similar academic and social interests.
Apartments feature spacious private bedrooms with shared living, kitchen and bath areas. Benefits of on-campus living include access to on-site computer lab and printers, on-site laundry facility and prompt maintenance.
New Mexico State University is the first and only university in the nation to offer on-campus housing specifically designated for student veterans and their families transitioning out of the military and into student life. The Department of Housing & Residential Life has worked in conjunction with the Student Veterans Association of NMSU to offer affordable housing on campus to student veterans attending the university full time. A designated portion of Tom Fort Village in Student Family Housing will be set aside to create the student veteran community.
