Accommodation

Each residence hall has its own character and features.

Arthur Hall
Arthur Hall is the only suite-style residence hall on campus. Each suite has four double rooms, a common room, and a bathroom. There is limited single room availability as well. Residents share responsibility for the common room and bathroom. Many students like the small, friendly micro-communities that form within each suite. Suites are designated single-sex.

The building is designated substance-free. This means that residents sign an agreement that they will not possess, consume, or be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs while in the building. (The agreement does not extend to pharmacy drugs prescribed by a doctor or to the possession of tobacco.)

Governors Hall
Governors is located directly on the quad, right next to Stearns Hall. It features a large common area in the North wing basement which hosts academic coaching and building-wide programming. Students like Governors because it is convenient to the center of campus and campus life. The building contains double, single and triple rooms. Each floor has a common area. Floors are designated single-sex.

The second and third floors of the South wing are designated substance free. This means that residents sign an agreement that they will not possess, consume or be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs while in the building. (The agreement does not extend to pharmacy drugs prescribed by a doctor or the to possession of tobacco.)

Martinetti Hall
Martinetti Hall hosts our campus administrative offices on the first floor. Second floor is shared between the Business Department and residence hall spaces, while the entire third floor is residential. All of the rooms are configured as double rooms but some are made available as single rooms each year.

The second floor is designated gender neutral. This means that any students who choose each other as roommates may room together. This building features a student kitchen and some of the best views on campus. For these reasons, most of the residents are typically upper-class students, but some incoming students are assigned there depending on availability.

Senators Hall
Senators is located just down the hill from Governors. Students like that it is somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of campus and that it is close to SHAPE and the Visual Arts Center. The building has double, single and triple rooms.

College Apartments
For students who meet the eligibility criteria, the College Apartments offer an apartment setting on the campus grounds. Note that applying to live in the College Apartment involves a separate process; it is not the same as applying for placement in a residence hall.

Campus

Today, our modern, 14-building campus spreads over 350 hilltop acres and serves nearly 2,000 students.

We've got 13 men's and women's varsity teams; a renovated fitness center with a competition pool, climbing wall, dedicated spinning and yoga studios, plus two gyms; and outdoor sports fields with amazing views.

Situated near Stowe in the heart of the Green Mountains, near three major ski resorts, JSC is one hour from Burlington (Vermont’s largest city), 3.5 hours from Boston and 1.5 hours from Montreal, and has access to six major ski resorts.

The Green Mountain State is close to Boston and Montreal. Greater Burlington -- Vermont's largest city and the state's main cultural center -- is within an hour of campus. Free rides for students are available on weekends via the Badger Bullet, our biodiesel bus.

Explore 223 mountains over 2,000 feet and access to the Long Trail. Smugglers' Notch is a 15-minute ride campus, Stowe Mountain Resort is only a 30-minute drive, and Jay Peak, claiming the most snow in the East, is just 45 minutes away.
