About Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU)

The largest private university in New Jersey, FDU is a not-for-profit, nonsectarian, multicampus institution. Founded in 1942, FDU achieved four-year status in 1948 and approval as a university in 1956.

The University offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including doctoral programs in nursing practice, clinical psychology and school psychology; and an AACSB-accredited business school. Degree programs are offered on two New Jersey campuses and at two FDU locations outside the U.S.: Wroxton College, in Oxfordshire in England, and the Vancouver Campus, in British Columbia, Canada.

FDU's 12,000 full- and part-time students pursue quality career-oriented programs on schedules tailored to their needs -- days, evenings and weekends.

Campus information

Fairleigh Dickinson University owns four campuses, two in the United States, one in Canada, and one in England, each with a unique set of characteristics and qualities. FDU-Vancouver is Fairleigh Dickinson's newest campus, having opened in 2007.

Fairleigh Dickinson University provides housing service to its students to live in campus. Students will have the opportunity to “live, learn, and grow” through the unique experience of living with other students. The staff of the Office of Residence Life is committed to assisting the students in making the most of the living experience and supporting students in achieving their educational goals.

There is a cable outlet provided in each residence hall room and/or suite. Each residence hall room with data ports for access to the local area network (LAN) for each occupant which provides access to the internet and university network resources from the residence halls. Washers and dryers are also provided in the residence halls free of charge and 1 unit of microfridge or refrigerator will be provided for the students who live in residence halls.

The university has two main campuses located in New Jersey: the College at Florham in Madison, which is centered on the former estate of Florence Vanderbilt and Hamilton Twombly; and the Metropolitan Campus located close to New York City and spanning the Hackensack River in Teaneck and Hackensack. Fairleigh Dickinson University also has two international campuses, one in Vancouver, British Columbia, and another in Wroxton, England, known as Wroxton College.

The locations of each campuses are stated as below:-

  • Teaneck, New Jersey, FDU's Metropolitan Campus, 10 miles from NYC, in Bergen County;
  • Madison, New Jersey, FDU's College at Florham, 35 miles west, in Morris County;
  • Wroxton, England, 3 miles from Banbury and 70 miles from London;
  • downtown Vancouver, Canada, FDU-Vancouver.
  • Extension sites throughout New Jersey, and partner institutions and study abroad opportunities around the world.
