Campus information

Emory's students, faculty and staff create a welcoming and enterprising community. We enjoy a host of colorful traditions that range from Wonderful Wednesdays and Dooley's Week to Classroom on the Quad and Emory Cares International Service Day. And we always have room for new ideas -- two students with a vision of making a difference started Volunteer Emory.

The Emory Eagles compete within NCAA Division III in 18 sports. Arts at Emory hosts hundreds of programs that bring together thousands of students, faculty, guest artists and visitors annually. The university designates more than half of the campus as protected green space and engages the community through a range of sustainability initiatives.

Emory's main campus is located in Druid Hills section of unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia,a suburban community near Atlanta. Emory’s main campus is about a 15-minute drive from downtown and midtown Atlanta as well as the Buckhead area. The Atlanta metropolitan area, with more than 5.5 million people, is the third largest in the Southeastern United States and the ninth largest in the country.Atlanta is home to the world headquarters of corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, AT&T Mobility, UPS, Delta Air Lines, and Turner Broadcasting.

Atlanta has the country's fourth-largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, and more than 75 percent of Fortune 1000 companies have business operations in the metropolitan area.Popular attractions in the Atlanta area include, the world’s largest indoor aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, the High Museum of Art and CNN Center.

Atlanta is also home to The Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10k with approximately 55,000 runners, as well as the National Black Arts Festival, a celebration of African American music, film, visual art, dance and literature, that takes place every summer in Atlanta.

Accommodation

Residence Life and Housing maintains more than 20 residence halls. About three in four undergraduates, including all first- and second-year students, live in campus housing, fostering a sense of community and involvement in college life.

All residential students must participate in an Emory Dining meal plan. We offer several choices to accomodate a range of dietary needs and preferences. Students simply show their university ID, the EmoryCard, to use plan benefits at dining facilities.
