Campus information

The Chicago campus facilities of East-West University consists of the East building located at 816 South Michigan Avenue, the West building at 819 South Wabash Avenue, and the Student Life Center (SLC) located at 829 South Wabash Avenue, in the South Loop of the downtown area.

The three buildings are connected by an enclosed walkway. Michigan Avenue is one of the most imposing thoroughfares in America. Grant park and Lake Michigan are located to the east of the campus and the towering buildings to the west and the north form a setting that is attractive and memorable. The architectural grandeur and beauty of downtown Chicago is world-renowned. Chicago’s Museum Campus, comprising the Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the Shedd Aquarium, is a short walk to the southeast of the campus.

The Chicago Public Library Cultural Center, Millennium Park, the Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, Orchestra Hall, Soldier Field, theaters, the financial district, federal and state office buildings, and fine restaurants are all within easy walking distance

EWU is conveniently located in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, easily accessible by all forms of public transportation. EWU’s new 17-story Student Life Center features multiple gyms, basketball courts, computer labs and an expansive library.

Accommodation

The Flats is located on the top floors of the new Student Life Center (SLC) which opened in September 2013.

The Flats has 70 fully-furnished apartments, with full size kitchen, in three configurations:

  • Studio
  • 2BR double occupancy with a common living area
  • 3BR, 2BA double occupancy with a common living area

The SLC offers:

  • All utilities (electricity, heat, A/C, basic cable TV service) included
  • Free laundry facilities on every other floor
  • Free wireless internet service throughout the entire building (including resident apartments and lounges)
  • Cardio and Strength Training Fitness Center
  • Full-size basketball court
  • Access to computers
  • Community lounge areas with comfortable seating
