About Seoul National University

Seoul National University is national research university located in Seoul, the capita; in Korea. Campus information

Seoul National University is made up of two Seoul-based and one Suwon-based campuses: the Gwanak Campus is situated in the neighborhood of Daehak-dong (former Sillim-dong), Gwanak-gu and the Yongon Campus is north of the Han River in Daehangno, Jongno District; and the new Campus Suwon, in Iui-dong, Yeongtong-gu.

Gwanak Campus, the main campus, is located in the southern part of Seoul. It is served by its own subway station on Line 2. Yeongeon Campus, the medical campus, is on Daehangno (University Street), northeast Seoul.

Accommodation

  • The main campus in Gwanak has a huge dormitory complex named Gwanak-sa near the rear gate of the campus which can house about 5,000 people.
  • Gwanak-sa Undergraduate House has 1,215 of double rooms only for double occupancy. It is housing 1,063 female and 1,366 male undergraduate students.
  • Gwanak-sa Graduate House has 545 single rooms and 901 double rooms for 2,347 graduate students.
  • Gwanak-sa Family House is 200 units of two room apartments for married graduate students who want to live with their family.
  • The Gwanak-sa Houses are all furniture and open 24 hours. (No curfew.) It has its own cafeterias which can host most of the dorm students. It also has subsidiary facilities such as indoor gymnasium, concert hall, and laundry rooms, etc.
  • While Gwanak-sa is for both international and local students, BK International House is only for international researchers and faculty members. It has 316 of one-bedroom units and 74 of two-bedrooms. Each unit is furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, bed, desk, wardrobe, refrigerator, gas stove, and air-conditioner.
