Overview
The JPA Scholarship consists of 5 different options, as follows-
1. Program Dermasiswa B40
The Program Dermasiswa B40 is a scholarship offered to SPM leavers in the B40 category who are continuing their studies at Diploma level in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
This scholarship is only awarded to students who study in Public Universities, Polytechnic, Institut Kemahiran Awam (IKA), and recognised Private Universities.
2. Program Ijazah Dalam Negara (PIDN)
The programme focuses on students currently studying their degree in Public Universities, Premier Polytechnics, and Government Linked Universities (GLU). This sponsorship is in the form of a convertible loan.
3. Program Penajaan Nasional (PPN)
This is the most prestigious scholarship offered by JPA, only open to the best SPM students. Recipients of this scholarship will get to study at world-renowned universities, typically in the US or UK. 411 of the nation's best students will be handpicked for the PPN, but only 20 will be selected for the scholarship.
4. Program Khas Jepun, Korea, Perancis, dan Jerman (JKPJ)
The scholarship is offered to SPM leavers who want to pursue courses related to engineering, social science or science and technology in Japan, Korea, France and Germany. Successful candidates will attend a preparatory course locally before continuing with their respective degree studies at selected institutions abroad.
5. Program Khas Lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Dalam Negara (LSPM)
This is a scholarship by JPA that is open to SPM students who have scored a minimum of 9A+ regardless of the number of subjects taken. The scholarship will cover local preparatory studies AND can be extended to a local degree upon meeting the required grades set by JPA.
- Pre-University courses that are applicable include A-Levels, AUSMAT, STPM, Matriculation, and Foundation at local institutions (both public and selected private institutions).
- Successful applicants can choose to pursue their degree in a local public university or selected private institutions based on the applicants’ selected field of study.
- Recipients who did not manage to complete their preparatory course OR did not score grades higher than the minimum set by JPA will be terminated from this sponsorship programme.
- This sponsorship is in the form of a convertible loan.
Eligibility
1. Program Dermasiswa B40
Successful applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Malaysian citizen
- In good health
- First-time SPM leavers
- Parent(s) of applicants must not be blacklisted / taken legal action by the JPA
- Did not receive financial aid/scholarships from other associations/organisations for the same level of study
- Income (per capita) is within the B40 category
- Already enrolled in a Diploma course in an institution recognised by JPA
Applicable for selected fields of study:
- Technical and Engineering courses
- Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
- Science
- Social Science
2. Program Ijazah Dalam Negara (PIDN)
Successful applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Malaysian citizen
- In good health
- Has a SPM certificate
- Not blacklisted / taken legal action by the JPA
- Did not receive financial aid/scholarships from other associations/organisations for the same level of study
- Have already begun studying at an institution before the end of the application period
Applicable for selected fields of study:
- Technical and Engineering courses
- Science
- Social Science
- Clinical and Healthcare courses
- Architecture
- Veterinary
3. Program Penajaan Nasional (PPN)
Successful applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Academic achievement
- Co-curricular activity involvement and achievements
- Family’s socio-economic status
- Applicant’s performance in the Student Assessment Centre (SAC) and interview
Applicable for selected fields of study:
- Technology
- Agriculture & Forestry
- Biological Sciences
- Computer Science
- Economics & Econometrics
- Geology
- Environmental
- Earth & Marine Sciences
- Mineral & Mining Engineering
- Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
Applicants are advised to check the course availability on the official JPA portal.
4. Program Khas Jepun, Korea, Perancis dan Jerman (JKPJ)
Successful applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Malaysian citizen
- In good health
- First-time SPM leavers
- Parent(s) of applicants must not be blacklisted / taken legal action by the JPA
- Did not receive financial aid/scholarships from other associations/organisations for the same level of study
- Fulfilled the minimum academic requirement of the desired field and country
For Engineering and Science & Technology courses, you must have scored at least:
- A+/A in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry; and
- A- in English and History
For Social Science courses, you must have scored at least:
- A+/A in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any 2 other subjects; and
- A- in English and History
You will have to take different pre-university programmes depending on which country you want to study in (e.g. Germany = A-Level, Korea = Foundation, etc.).

- Malaysian citizen

- First-time SPM leavers
- Parent(s) of applicants must not be blacklisted / taken legal action by the JPA
- Did not receive financial aid/scholarships from other associations/organisations for the same level of study
- Achieved at least 9A+ in SPM
Instructions
Eligible students can apply online through the Portal Rasmi Pembangunan Modal Insan JPA https://esilav2.jpa.gov.my/. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend the Student Assessment Centre (SAC). The main purpose of the SAC is to ensure that JPA selects the best scholars for this programme.
