About Whitireia New Zealand

Whitireia New Zealand is a government owned and funded tertiary institute of technology, known for its high student success rate and culturally diverse student body. It has grown since its establishment in 1986 on the shores of Porirua Harbour, to become a 7,800 student operation with campuses in Auckland, Wellington, Kapiti and Porirua. Students consider the high academic quality of Whitireia programmes to be a point of difference in the region and the culture of the campus, represented by the support offered by tutors to be above all other educational providers in the greater Wellington area.

Main Campus: Porirua

The Porirua Campus was established in 1986 and boasts one of New Zealand’s most beautiful sites for a tertiary institute. The Porirua campus houses extensive resources, from an award-winning library, health education facility, students services and student learning centres.

The Porirua campus is situated just 20 minutes from Wellington City.
