About Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT)
The Limkokwing campus in Cyberjaya is home to 9,500 students from nearly 145 countries. Its multicultural environment enables both local and foreign students to interact and soak up various cultures.
The campus is an outstanding landmark in the vicinity. Its spectacular façade, a multi-hued skin of sorts, features creative industries, lifestyle activities and the university’s global expansion.
Through six faculties – Design Innovation, Multimedia Creativity, Communication, Media & Broadcasting, Information & Communication Technology, Business Management & Globalization and Architecture & Built Environment – the university runs an extensive range of programmes. Its Executive Leadership College also offers specially tailored courses in leadership, entrepreneurship, finance and information technology.
On the campus are nearly 40 clubs representing students from countries like Botswana, China, Indonesia, India, Iran and Sri Lanka. Their members take part in sports, cultural, religious and lifestyle activities on and off the campus, creating a multi-faceted ambience. The great chemistry among the clubs makes Limkokwing one closely-knit family.
The campus itself is everything a student needs. Among the facilities and amenities available to students are a coffee house, a food plaza with various styles of food, a gym, a hair salon and a convenience store. Students also make use of an art shop, a print shop, a medical clinic, an eLibrary and state-of-the-art computer labs.
The university has played host to local and foreign dignitaries. Among the VIP visitors were the Duke of York, Prince Andrew; the Duchess of Gloucester; the Prime Minister of St Vincent & the Grenadines, Dr Ralph E. Gonsalves; Maldivian Education Minister, Dr Mahmood Shougee, and Hollywood celebrities like Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey.
The university is in Cyberjaya, a planned township located 50km south of Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Next to Cyberjaya is the country’s federal administrative centre, Putrajaya. Cyberjaya takes its inspiration from Silicon Valley, with its many smart homes, business parks and high-tech commercial high-rises, while Putrajaya offers an exciting mixture of contemporary and exoticism—many of its buildings conspire with European and Middle Eastern-themes and showcase Islamic influences that inspire the city’s distinctive cultural identity.
The university has its own shuttle bus service in which various pickup points are selected such as: Desaria, Petaling Jaya, Kelana Jaya, Puchong, Serdang and Putrajaya. Students will be dropped at Cyberjaya station. One can also take a taxi to reach the campus.
Facilities and amenities included are CCTV, 24-hour security, free club membership, public phone booth and wireless Internet. Each room is furnished with a mattress, study table and chair, a cupboard and curtains. Each floor is furnished with a sofa, dining table, television, fridge, gas stove, coined-operated washing machine, kitchen, bathroom, house keeping & other electrical appliances at the common area. Desaria Villa Condominium is one of the popular off-campus accommodations for Limkokwing students.
