The action-adventure film X-Men: Apocalypse continues the story in the last release, centering on a massive incident of the awakening En Sabah Nur or the Apocalypse, the first mutant who ever existed on the Earth.
Possessing the powers of many other mutants, the Apocalypse hopes to create a new world order by recruiting powerful mutants to destroy everything built by the humankind. What would Professor X and his X-Men do to stop the destruction of the world, aside from probably facing his old friend, Magneto?
With Professor X and the Beast re-opening the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the new movie introduces you to the young Cyclops, Jean Grey and Nightcrawler as new students, alongside familiar faces such as Mystique, Havok and the Quicksilver.
There is no time for orientation day for the Team Defend as the Apocalypse also recruited four dangerously powerful mutants for his Team Destroy: Storm, Angel, Psylocke and of course the Master of Metal, Magneto.
Apart from the opposing mutants of Team Defend and Team Destroy battling each other, there are few suspenses in this movie. The Quicksilver will need to deal with his heartless father, Magneto and how the only class five mutant, Jean Grey (Phoenix) releases her telekinetic potential to fight the indestructible Apocalypse. And you’re probably wondering how Professor get bald right? The answer is in this movie.
Although the movie is long, it is jam-packed with fight scenes enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Some of the characters, though, did not get enough action on the scenes, but nevertheless, the movie is filled with heart-stopping action from its main characters. Overall, this movie incorporated the elements of humour, love, excitement and of course, action. What both team has shown us is that teamwork matters on whatever we’re doing, so does the trust and strong bond among the members.
Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, X-Men: Apocalypse is something that the Sci-Fi and action fans wouldn’t want to miss. With an experienced director, Bryan Singer and young actors inject energy and enthusiasm into the film, you should really grab your tickets for this movie soon.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens on 19 May nationwide.
