KUALA LUMPUR: Students can now apply for local or international universities online with the launch of a tertiary education content and recruitment portal.
Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said the portal known as easyuni.com has a list of over 34,000 courses and programmes from 362 colleges and universities from more than 20 countries.
"The portal offers a comprehensive platform for local and international private college and university applications for school leavers and working adults.
"They (applicants) can search, compare and shortlist, rank the selection of colleges or universities and send in applications for free," he told reporters after launching the online education portal, owned and managed by MSC-status company, Hescar Sdn Bhd here today.
Among universities listed in the portal were Alexandria University in Egypt, University of Tasmania in Australia, University of British Columbia in Canada, International Fashion Academy (IFA) in France, Lincoln University in New Zealand and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) here.
Hescar chief executive officer Edwin Tay said the portal, which was set up last year, received more than 9,800 registered students with successful placements in universities all over the world.
